I was, uh, I… I drifted.
Galaxy Quest (1999)
I had originally not wanted to see Galaxy Quest because I heard that it was making fun of Star Trek. Then Jonathan Frakes rang me up and said ‘You must not miss this movie! See it on a Saturday night in a full theater.’ And I did, and of course I found it was brilliant. Brilliant. No one laughed louder or longer in the cinema than I did. - Patrick Stewart
”I often do a lot of research. I didn’t know I was doing a Q & A screening until I read it on one of the [fan] websites and they were booking tickets. I was like, ‘Oh, that’ll be nice. I better brush my hair then’. No, they’re great. They’re really supportive. I try to look after them.”

he’s so lovely!
if he did his research properly, he’d know that we don’t mind messy hair. At all.
Heath’s the best actor I’ve ever worked with. Coming off The Brothers Grimm, which wasn’t particularly well-received, I remember telling people about him. ‘Heath Ledger, you mean the guy from A Knight’s Tale?’ they would say. I’d tell them, ‘No, you wait!’ And then he did Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight. People just got a glimpse of what he was going to do. He was so full of life. I don’t think I’ll ever get over that, nor will anybody who knew him. He was a miracle of a man.
"Well, when I was nine years old, Star Trek came on, I looked at it and I went screaming through the house, 'Come here, mum, everybody, come quick, come quick, there's a black lady on television and she ain't no maid!' I knew right then and there I could be anything I wanted to be.”

"There will always be people who don’t agree with you and people that don’t support you, and you basically have to ignore them and do what you like anyway. Never let anyone else stop you from being who you really are."
“I hate to hear you talk about all women as if they were fine ladies instead of rational creatures. None of us want to be in calm waters all our lives.” - Jane Austen
"It was only ever my intention to be positive about any group or forum that is kind enough to offer their support to me in my work. I believe this is how I have presented myself to journalists although I cannot control the bias they might wish to ‘spin’ regarding their opinion of such forums. In general I do tend to be light hearted about ‘fan’ support, this is just my way of keeping things ‘real’ and down to earth, which they must always remain. I would and have never ‘ridiculed’ any fan for their dedication, I have always corrected interviewers when the talk about ‘crazed fans’, I make sure they understand the respect and intelligence with which most of you all conduct yourselves. I am mortified that this has somehow been misinterpreted, but I take responsibility for this and will stand firm in the face of future ridicule.”

*Don’t usually get involved in juvenile TUMBLR fueled speculation but the things that I have heard this past week are filthy and ridiculous. It’s a shame that people can’t get off “TUMBLR MODE” and return to REALITY and move on with their lives. Get it the F*CK together people and LET’S GET BACK TO TOLKIEN*
A very happy birthday to our beloved Professor, J.R.R Tolkien who was, in fact, a hobbit in all but size. May your memory never fade!
